Community Unites at Waterbury’s Tirado Park for 3rd Annual “Saving Our Youths – Stop the Violence” Initiative

Waterbury, CT – As the city faces rising concerns and holds the ranking of the 5th most dangerous city in Connecticut, according to the latest FBI crime data, residents are stepping up to reclaim their community.

This Saturday, August Aug 23rd, the 3rd Annual Saving Our Youths – Stop the Violence Initiative returns to Tirado Park, bringing together voices from every corner of Waterbury in a powerful show of unity and purpose.

Launched as a community collective collaborative, this initiative is a direct response to the ongoing violence impacting local youth. Its mission is clear: to raise awareness, foster healing, and build a stronger, safer Waterbury from the ground up.

“Waterbury needs this,” says one of the event organizers. “We’re not waiting for change — we’re creating it. Our youth deserve to feel safe, supported, and valued, and that starts with all of us coming together.”
