Updated Nov 16, 2025

Waterbury officials report progress following yesterday’s water main break on Huntingdon Avenue. Schools have reopened today, but repair crews are still awaiting delivery of critical replacement parts needed to complete the fix.

The 30-inch transmission main remains offline as workers manage the draining process and prepare the site for final repair work. The City notes that while many households have seen service restored, areas at higher elevations may continue to experience disruptions or low pressure.

Current Advisory

  • Boil-Water Order Still in Effect: Residents who lost water or experienced low pressure should continue boiling tap water before drinking or cooking.
  • Hospitals Stable: Both Waterbury Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital continue to operate without interruption.
