Waterbury CT- Connecticut has lost one of its most trusted and familiar television personalities. Longtime meteorologist Geoff Fox passed away on November 11, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.

Fox spent more than four decades forecasting the weather, becoming a household name across Connecticut through his work at WTNH (Channel 8) and later at WTIC (Fox 61). His calm presence, sharp forecasting skills, and genuine connection with viewers made him one of the most recognized figures in local television history.

Over the years, Fox guided families through blizzards, hurricanes, and heat waves. But for many who grew up watching him, his legacy goes beyond meteorology — it’s about familiarity, comfort, and trust.

“He would be the one to say no school,” said a viewer remembering his signature snow-day forecasts that defined winter mornings for countless Connecticut children.

Even after leaving broadcast television, Fox continued connecting with fans online, sharing weather updates and personal reflections as he faced his health challenges.

He is survived by his wife, Helaine, and daughter, Stefanie.

For generations of Connecticut residents, Geoff Fox wasn’t just a weatherman — he was part of the daily rhythm of life, someone who made even the toughest storms a little easier to face.

Rest in peace, Geoff Fox.
