WATERBURY, CT — The Waterbury Police Department has arrested a man following a robbery at the Home Depot on November 12, 2025, where two power tools were stolen. The incident occurred in the morning, and no employees were injured during the confrontation.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, Isuel Cordero, 24, of Waterbury, entered the Home Depot and concealed two Ryobi drillsin his backpack. Loss prevention staff attempted to stop him as he exited the store. Cordero allegedly pushed staff and brandished a box cutter before fleeing the scene on foot.
Police later apprehended Cordero on Benedict Street. The stolen drills, valued at $659.98, were not recovered.

Cordero has been formally charged with:
- Robbery in the 1st Degree
- Larceny in the 5th Degree
Officials note that retail theft continues to be a persistent issue in Waterbury, but the department emphasizes that its officers remain vigilant and committed to enforcing theft-related incidents.
“Due to our officers’ continued efforts, a dangerous individual was apprehended,” the Waterbury Police Department stated.
