Waterbury, CT- The City of Waterbury has announced a temporary road closure on Bank Street as paving begins next week as part of the ongoing downtown streetscape improvement project.

What is the Waterbury Development Corp ( WDC )?

Paving work is scheduled for Monday, November 24 through Wednesday, November 26, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. A daily detour will be in place during paving hours. The city released a map showing the detour route for drivers.

The work is part of a larger downtown revitalization effort, including upgraded road surfaces, new sidewalks, improved lighting, and updated streetscape features—aimed at supporting businesses, improving walkability, and creating a safer, more vibrant downtown Waterbury.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.
