WATERBURY -At approximately 10:00 AM, on Nov 20, Waterbury Police executed a series of coordinated warrants across the city, targeting narcotics activity and illegal firearm possession.
FBI Arrest at Grand News LLC in Waterbury Causing a Stir in the Community
Warrants were conducted at 71 Sullivan Street (Apt. 4), 94 Charles Street (Lighters 2 Ashtrays Smoke Shop), a warrant for the person of Steven Echevarria, 50, and a warrant for a gray/green BMW. The operation involved the Vice and Intelligence Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, and the Auto Theft Task Force.
During the investigation police seized:
- 60 grams of cocaine
- 6.8 grams of fentanyl
- 400 grams of marijuana
- 107.8 grams of crack cocaine
- Springfield Armory 9mm handgun
- Approximately $13,000 in cash

Ashlyn Johnson, 31, Waterbury
Charged with:
- Theft of a Firearm
- Operating a Drug Factory
- Unlawful Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine
- Possession of Narcotics With Intent to Sell
- Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Sell
The Waterbury Police Department says it remains committed to targeting violent crime, illegal firearms, and drug distribution throughout the city.
