Waterbury Police Seize Fentanyl, Crack Cocaine, and Ammunition in Multi-Agency Operation on Charles Street

Waterbury, CT– The Waterbury Police Department, working alongside the DEA New Haven District Office, Vice and Intelligence Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, and Auto Theft Task Force, executed a series of coordinated search and seizure warrants on November 20, 2025, resulting in a major narcotics and weapons arrest on the city’s South End.

One of the primary targets was 98 Charles Street, a neighborhood bodega identified during an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity. Additional warrants were executed for the person of Gerardo Guzman, 36, of Waterbury, as well as a black BMW connected to the case.

According to police, the operation led to the seizure of:

  • 76.17 grams of Fentanyl
  • 110.52 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • Ammunition
  • Drug paraphernalia

Guzman was taken into custody and faces the following charges:

  • Operating a Drug Factory
  • Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell
  • Possession of ½ Ounce or More of Cocaine
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition

Police confirmed that Guzman is a convicted felon and is legally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
