Community Votes Waterbury 2026: Nominations Now Open

The Waterbury Times|Published Dec 3, 2025

WATERBURY — The nomination period for Community Votes Waterbury 2026 is officially open, giving residents the chance to recognize the businesses, people, and organizations that make this city stronger every year.

From December 2 through March 29, community members can nominate their favorite restaurants, barbershops, nonprofits, youth programs, educators, medical providers, creative services, and local professionals across dozens of categories. The initiative is fully resident-driven, with winners determined by the people who live, work, and contribute to Waterbury.

Organizers are also encouraging residents to add to the list by submitting new businesses or services that deserve recognition but may not yet appear on the ballot. This ensures emerging entrepreneurs and community leaders—especially those operating outside traditional advertising spaces—receive the visibility they deserve.

Community Votes has become a yearly snapshot of what Waterbury values: good service, strong community ties, and people who consistently show up for the city. For many small business owners, a nomination or win brings real visibility, new customers, and the affirmation of hometown support.

Residents are encouraged to participate early and help highlight the individuals and organizations shaping Waterbury’s future.
