Home Opener for the Wildcats
The Wilby Wildcats finally return home Tuesday night for their 2025–26 debut at Buck Hill, hosting Nonnewaug in what should be a fast-paced, high-energy matchup.
Fresh off a Summer League Championship, Wilby enters the winter with momentum, swagger, and something they haven’t had in a few years—expectations.
Now competing in CIAC Division III, the Wildcats are young, talented, and built to grow quickly. Their core has size, athleticism, and the kind of hunger you only find in players who’ve been counted out before.
This is a program that could make noise in the NVL… and maybe beyond if things break right.

Matchup Outlook
Nonnewaug comes in with discipline, shooting, and structure—classic Berkshire League basketball. But Wilby’s speed, pressure, and home-court edge inside the Buck Hill Complex make them a dangerous matchup for anybody.
Expect this to be a statement opportunity for Wilby’s young core.
Why This Game Matters
- First home game of the season
- First look at Wilby’s new D3 identity
- Program coming off a championship summer
- A chance to set the tone for conference play
If the Wildcats want to announce themselves early, Tuesday is the night.
