Waterbury Teen in Critical Condition After Being Struck on Highland Avenue

WATERBURY, CT — Waterbury Police Patrol Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a struck pedestrian on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at approximately 8:27 a.m., in the area of 422 Highland Avenue, according to police.

Authorities say a 16-year-old pedestrian was crossing Highland Avenue at the same time a vehicle was traveling on the roadway when the collision occurred. The pedestrian was subsequently struck by the vehicle.

All parties involved remained on scene and were cooperative with the investigation, police said.

The juvenile victim was transported to an area hospital, where they are currently listed in critical condition.

The incident remains under investigation by Waterbury Police’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
