Waterbury Vehicle Crashes Into Woodtick Road Apartment; Driver in Critical Condition

WATERBURY, CT — A 36-year-old Waterbury man remains in critical condition after his vehicle crashed into an apartment building on Woodtick Road Sunday evening, according to Waterbury Police.

Police said officers were dispatched to 954 Woodtick Road on December 21, 2025, at approximately 5:18 p.m. for reports of a vehicle striking a building. Upon arrival, officers found that a Nissan Sentra had crashed into Apartment #4of the multi-unit residence.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was the only person injured in the incident. He was transported to a local hospital, where medical staff determined he suffered life-threatening head injuries. Police said the man remains in serious, critical condition.

No other residents were injured as a result of the crash.

City building inspectors responded to the scene and determined that the structure was sound and that the building’s integrity was not compromised.

The incident remains an active and ongoing investigation and is being handled by the Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU).
