Waterbury Stabbing Leaves One Dead at Grove Street Apartment Building

WATERBURY, CT — One person has died following a stabbing incident at an apartment building on Grove Street Saturday evening, according to the Waterbury Police Department.

On December 27, 2025, at approximately 7:17 p.m., Waterbury Police Patrol Officers responded to 144 Grove Street for reports of a physical altercation involving a weapon inside the building. Upon arrival, officers located two adult male victims suffering from injuries consistent with an edged weapon.

Both victims were transported to local area hospitals for treatment. Police later confirmed that one of the victims succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities say the incident appears to be isolated and involved several individuals known to one another. There is no active threat to the public or residents of the building at this time.

Detectives with the Waterbury Police Department continue to investigate.
