WATERBURY, CT — The Waterbury community is mourning the loss of a 15-year-old Waterbury resident and Crosby High School student who was killed in a shooting in the Bronx, New York.

According to authorities, the incident occurred Saturday evening inside a Bronx apartment building. Police responded to reports of gunfire and located two teenagers suffering from gunshot wounds. The 15-year-old Waterbury teen was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A second teen was also injured and is reported to be in stable condition.
The victim was a student at Crosby High School in Waterbury. School officials have acknowledged the loss and are preparing to provide support services for students and staff impacted by the tragedy.
At this time, no arrests have been announced. The investigation remains ongoing, and law enforcement has not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
