Waterbury, CT — On a frigid night along Oronoke Road, the Holy Cross Crusaders brought playoff-level intensity to their division matchup with Torrington, taking an 83-72 victory in a game filled with technical fouls, heated exchanges, and even a kicked chair.
The Crusaders came out firing, opening the contest on a 25-10 run highlighted by a breakaway dunk from junior A. Davis, and never looked back. Despite valiant efforts from Torrington’s seniors Chris De La Cruz and O. Fenn, Holy Cross’ balanced firepower proved overwhelming.

Junior guards E. Clement and J. Jones led the charge with timely steals, clutch three-pointers, and aggressive drives to the hoop. Every time Torrington threatened to pull within striking distance, Clement or Jones responded with a big basket to keep the Crusaders in control.
The game nearly took a scary turn when Jones landed awkwardly after a steal and layup. After a tense moment, he returned to the court and continued his standout performance, ultimately earning Stallworth Counseling Player of the Game honors for his hustle, grit, and two-way play.

With the win, Holy Cross improves to 9-3, while Torrington slips to 7-3.
