UPDATE: Jalen Rasheed Skeete, 25, of Bridgeport, was formally charged with arson last month in connection with a Nov. 7 fire at a Waterbury home, according to police. Skeete was arraigned Tuesday in Waterbury Superior Court, where his bond was increased by $500,000 to a total of $730,000. Investigators allege Skeete intentionally set the fire hours after a reported burglary at the same residence, with cellphone location data placing him near the Sylvan Street home at the time of the blaze. The fire, which originated on an enclosed rear porch, spread through the first and second floors of the home, officials said. Skeete has been held since his arrest following an alleged multi-town crime spree that ended with a police pursuit in Brookfield.
