WATERBURY, CT — On February 26, 2026, at approximately 11:18 a.m., Waterbury Patrol Officers responded to reports of shots fired near 1900 North Main Street.

According to the Waterbury Police Department, the incident appears to be isolated, stemming from a disturbance between two individuals.

  • Victim: An adult male was transported to a local hospital with several gunshot wounds.
  • Condition: Non-life-threatening; currently stable.

The investigation is ongoing and being handled jointly by patrol officers and the Detective Bureau. Authorities report that the area is safe, with no active threat to the public.

WATERBURY— Police are investigating a shooting incident reported late this morning on North Main Street near a local tire shop.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at approximately 11:18 a.m. in the area of Tony’s Tires & Rims, located at 1138 North Main Street.

  • shot was fired at a suspect, who then returned fire at the business owner
  • The suspect is described as a white male wearing a red shirt and black shorts
  • The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a gray Honda CR-V, heading down Chase Avenue
