WATERBURY — In a game where neither team could create separation, WCA found just enough in the final seconds to outlast Crosby, 67–64, in a NVL semifinal thriller that felt like a championship game in itself.

The largest lead for either side all night? Just three points. The rest of the game was a blur of lead changes, momentum swings, and clutch moments — the kind of high-stakes basketball that defines NVL postseason history.
Crosby controlled the tempo for most of the night, leading at the end of every quarter except the one that mattered most.
And in the end, that was the difference.

Final Minute Drama
With just 6 seconds left, Crosby sophomore J. Benjamin, who finished with a game-high 24 points, stepped to the line with a chance to tie. The gym erupted with noise from the Spartan faithful.
The free throw missed.
WCA secured the rebound, and sophomore Ju Robinson calmly knocked down two clutch free throws with 3.5 seconds remaining to seal the 67–64 victory.
After the game, Robinson admitted the moment wasn’t easy.
“I was in my head… nerves,” he said. “But we practice free throws every day.”
When asked what it felt like to step to the line in that moment, Robinson answered with one word:
“Practice.”
Balanced Attack Lifts WCA
WCA was led by senior guard A. Turner, who poured in 18 points, anchoring a remarkably balanced offensive effort.
The Spartans placed five players in double figures, showing depth and composure under pressure. Robinson, who got the start in place of the usual sixth-man role, struggled early and was held scoreless in the first half — but responded with 12 second-half points, including the game-clinching free throws.

Crosby’s Season Ends in Familiar Fashion
For Crosby, the loss ends a strong season in heartbreaking — and familiar — fashion.
Senior J. Jackson added 17 points, while C. Washington, the Billy Finn Award winner, finished with 12 points for the Bulldogs.
For the second straight year, Crosby’s season ends in the NVL semifinals at the hands of WCA.

What’s Next
With the win, WCA advances to its fourth consecutive NVL Championship Game, continuing a dominant run in league play.
They will face the winner of St. Paul vs. Woodland on Saturday, February 28, 2026, with a chance to capture their fourth straight NVL title.
If this semifinal was any indication, the championship game will be must-watch basketball.
