Waterbury-There was no suspense. No late-game drama. No question about who the best team in the NVL was this season.

When the final buzzer sounded Saturday, the Woodland Hawks didn’t just win a championship—they ended a dynasty. Final Score Woodland 78 WCA 50
Facing a three-time defending champion WCA program, Woodland delivered a commanding performance from start to finish, securing a wire-to-wire victory and capping off a perfect, undefeated NVL season. It was the second time in just 28 days the Hawks had taken down WCA—but this one carried history with it.
From the opening tip, Woodland made its intentions clear. The Hawks jumped out to an early lead, dictated tempo, and never allowed WCA to establish any rhythm. Every possession felt controlled. Every run by WCA was answered. By halftime, the tone of the game had already been set: this wasn’t going to be a battle—it was going to be a coronation.

And that’s exactly what it became.
This Woodland group wasn’t expected to be here at the start of the season—certainly not undefeated, and certainly not ending one of the league’s most dominant runs in recent memory. But game after game, they built belief, chemistry, and an identity rooted in discipline, defensive intensity, and unselfish offense.
Saturday was the final, emphatic statement.
The Hawks executed with precision, defended with purpose, and played with the confidence of a team that knew it was destined for this moment. WCA, a proud program with championship pedigree, simply had no answer.
As the buzzer sounded and Woodland players stormed the court, the significance of the moment set in: a perfect NVL season, a dethroned dynasty, and a new standard established.
On a day when—quite literally—the planets aligned, everything came together for Woodland.
History made. Dynasty ended. Undefeated.
