WATERBURY — A 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries Monday evening following a crash involving a car and a dirt bike on Meriden Road in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the area of 1261 Meriden Road at approximately 7:50 p.m. after reports of a collision between a motor vehicle and a dirt bike.
According to radio traffic from the scene, first responders declared a trauma alert for the 22-year-old male rider, who suffered head injuries along with other bodily trauma. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The condition of the driver of the car involved in the crash was not immediately known Monday night.
Police temporarily secured the area as emergency crews worked to treat the victim and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Authorities have not yet released additional details about what led to the collision. The incident remains under investigation.
