Our Mission

Parker Jane Public Benefit Corporation exists to strengthen communities through transformative storytelling, civic education, and ethical media practices. Our mission is to amplify local voices, invest in second chances, and build an informed and empowered public.

We are a mission-driven organization that uses journalism, education, and reinvestment as tools for long-term social change. Every project we pursue is grounded in equity, integrity, and our belief that communities should own and author their own narratives.

Our Five Pillars

1. Civic Education & Engagement

We equip individuals with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to participate fully in civic life—from local elections to public advocacy—bridging the gap between people and power.

2. Local Storytelling

We tell stories that matter to the communities we serve. By elevating underrepresented voices and neighborhood histories, we create media that reflects the richness, complexity, and humanity of local life.

3. Recidivism Initiatives

We believe in second chances. Through media programs, workforce development, and restorative storytelling, we support formerly incarcerated individuals on their journey back to community, dignity, and opportunity.

4. Editorial Standards & Integrity

Truth matters. We uphold rigorous editorial standards and transparent practices to ensure the media we produce is ethical, accurate, and accountable to the people it represents.

5. Community Reinvestment Through Media

We reinvest in the communities we cover—financially, educationally, and culturally—using the power of media to generate economic opportunities and foster long-term resilience.

Our Vision

To build a future where media is not just a mirror but a vehicle for justice, participation, and healing—owned by communities, powered by truth, and rooted in collective purpose.
