WATERBURY — Four men were shot on Mitchell Avenue during an incident that police said began as a dispute that escalated, according to the Waterbury Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the area around 7 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire and located four victims between the ages of 19 and 25 suffering from gunshot wounds.
All four men were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Authorities said a 21-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition at the time of the incident. A 19-year-old man was also hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Police said another 19-year-old man and a 25-year-old man were treated and later released from medical care.
Investigators said the shooting occurred after a dispute escalated. The case remains part of the department’s investigative record.
