Waterbury Clemente 12U All-Stars Advance to Finals with Hard-Fought 3–2 Victory Over Seymour

WATERBURY, CT — The Clemente All Stars 12U squad is championship bound after a nail-biting 3–2 semifinal victory over a tough Seymour team on a stormy Thursday evening filled with drama, emotion, and clutch performances.

After falling behind 1–0 early, the Waterbury-based All Stars refused to fold, battling back against not only a well-coached Seymour team but also a sudden downpour and an on-field controversy.

The comeback began in the middle innings as Clemente’s bats came alive, and they clawed back to take a 2–1 lead. But Seymour didn’t back down—tying the game 2–2 and putting major pressure on WTBY with runners on second and third and just one out. That’s when Clemente’s defense came up with a game-saving double play, snuffing out the rally and keeping the score even.

Moments later, the momentum shifted for good. With one out and 2 strikes, Clemente’s cleanup hitter launched a solo home run that gave Waterbury a 3–2 lead—one they would not give back.

As the game approached its final pitch—with Seymour down to their last strike—the Seymour coaching staff attempted to file a protest, questioning the eligibility of a Clemente player. But after review, officials denied the protest, allowing the game to continue. Clemente closed it out moments later.

Now, with hearts full and eyes on the prize, the Clemente All Stars 12U head to the

Championship Final this Saturday.

What does this mean for the SouthSide?

Final Score: Clemente All Stars 3, Seymour 2
Next Up: Championship Game – Saturday (details TBA)
