
Very early details are emerging from a chaotic series of events that began as a domestic dispute and ended with a house fire in Waterbury Friday morning.
According to initial reports, the incident started when a man allegedly stole his girlfriend’s laptop and phone after a domestic situation —devices that police later used to track him. The suspect fled Waterbury, leading officers on a pursuit through Prospect and Bethany, where he reportedly attempted to steal a car and struck a state police vehicle before escaping.
Investigators believe the suspect then returned to Waterbury and allegedly set fire to his girlfriend’s home on Sylvan Ave before fleeing once again.
As of 4:45 p.m., sources indicate the suspect was apprehended somewhere in vicinity of Newtown area
UPDATE: SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED in BROOKFIELD CT , after a crash and foot pursuit. Helicopter aided in pursuit.
