State Representative Larry Butler is calling on the Board of Alders (BOA) to move forward with plans for a new football field at Wilby High School in Waterbury’s North End.
“Wilby deserves a football field like the other schools,” Butler said, emphasizing the need for equal facilities across the city. He also noted that Wilby High and Bucks Hill are a part of Waterbury too, highlighting the importance of investing in all neighborhoods.
The project has allegedly received $3 million in funding, secured with the support of Rep. Butler. He told city officials he wants the work to be completed promptly.
The Wilby High football field and track project is on the agenda for tonight’s Board of Alders meeting. City officials are expected to discuss next steps, including approvals and timelines.
This is a developing story. The Waterbury Times will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
