Waterbury, CT – In a heartening show of community support, Price Rite Marketplace has teamed up with Feed the Children and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Waterbury to provide food and essential supplies to nearly 400 local families experiencing food insecurity. The initiative is part of the supermarket retailer’s “Feeding Minds & Bodies” campaign, aimed at ensuring children and families in the Brass City have access to nutritious food and essential items.
The distribution event will take place on Thursday, November 20, at Washington Park, 283 Sylvan Ave, Waterbury, CT, with the opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m. followed by the distribution of food and essentials from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each family will receive:
- A 25-lb box of food
- A 15-lb box of personal care items
- Backpacks filled with school supplies
- Price Rite Marketplace gift cards
- Additional items, generously donated by corporate partners including Catalina®, Melona®, Campoverde®, Mi Niña®, and Riviana Foods®

Key figures participating in the event include:
- Paul Pernerewski, Mayor of the City of Waterbury
- Karen Senich, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Waterbury
- Joe Allegro, Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships, Feed the Children
- Jon Wiltrout, Director of Human Resources, Price Rite Marketplace
The event will feature remarks from local dignitaries, semi-trucks filled with donated items, and volunteers distributing food and essentials to families in need.
