WATERBURY, CT — Meadow Street Automotive will once again transform its shop into a festive holiday destination on Christmas Eve, December 24, continuing a cherished Waterbury tradition that has brought smiles to local families for more than two decades.

Waterbury Community Events- Things to do in Waterbury

From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the community is invited to Meadow Street Automotive at 299 West Main Street for a free, family-friendly celebration featuring Santa Claus, live reindeer, hot cocoa, ice cream, and holiday cheer for all ages.

Now in its 22nd year, the annual event was founded by Waterbury small business owner Ken DeFloria Jr., who says the celebration is his way of giving back to the city that has supported him for so many years.

“What started as a small gesture years ago has grown into something truly special,” DeFloria said. “This event comes straight from the heart. It’s about community, gratitude, and keeping the magic of Christmas alive for families.”

Often described as a “North Pole — Waterbury Edition,” the Christmas Eve gathering has become a staple for families across the city and surrounding towns. Children can meet Santa, families can take photos, and everyone is welcome to enjoy seasonal treats in a safe and welcoming environment.

The event is free and open to the public, with no purchase or appointment required. With the help of family, friends, and employees, Meadow Street Automotive continues its long-standing mission of spreading kindness and holiday joy throughout the community.
