One Critically Injured Following Single-Vehicle Crash on Bunker Hill Avenue in Waterbury

WATERBURY, CT — One man is in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of Bunker Hill Avenue and Ardsley Road, according to police.

Waterbury Police Patrol Officers responded to the scene at approximately 4:13 p.m. on December 29, 2025, after receiving reports of a vehicle that had struck a tree.

Police said the 41-year-old male driver, a Waterbury resident, was transported from the scene to a local hospital, where he is receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries. His condition has been described as critical.

Two additional passengers were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor, non-life-threatening injuries and are reported to be in stable condition.

The incident remains an active and open investigation and is being handled by the Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU). No further details have been released at this time.
