Multiple Victims Critically Injured in Head-On Crash on Bunker Hill Avenue in Waterbury

Waterbury, CT — A serious two-car motor vehicle accident on Bunker Hill Avenue left multiple people, including two children, with life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon.

On January 2, 2026, at approximately 12:08 p.m., Waterbury Police responded to the area of 74 Bunker Hill Avenuefollowing reports of a severe head-on collision involving two sedans.

According to police, an Infiniti sedan and a Toyota sedan were traveling in opposite directions on Bunker Hill Avenue when they collided head-on. All operators and occupants from both vehicles were transported to local area hospitals for treatment. All individuals involved are residents of Waterbury.

The 25-year-old female driver of the Infiniti, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained severe, life-threatening internal injuries and remains in critical condition.

The Toyota was operated by a 31-year-old female, who also sustained life-threatening internal injuries and is currently listed in critical condition. The Toyota had three passengers: a 40-year-old female, a 12-year-old child, and a 6-year-old male. Police say all three passengers are also in critical condition due to internal injuries.

The incident remains an active and ongoing investigation and is being handled by the Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU).
