WATERBURY, CT — The City of Waterbury Department of Public Works has announced curbside Christmas tree collection dates for January 2026, giving residents two opportunities to properly dispose of natural trees following the holiday season.

City Announces Christmas and New Year’s Refuse & Recycling Schedule Changes

Curbside pickup will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, and Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Residents are asked to place their Christmas trees at the curb the day before their scheduled collection date.

Trees may also be dropped off at the Mark Lane Transfer Facility, located at 220 Mark Lane, Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Important Reminders

• Trees must be free of lights, ornaments, tinsel, and decorations
• Artificial trees will not be accepted during Christmas tree collection
• Artificial trees should be disposed of with regular solid waste pickup
