Waterbury Police Raid Spedy Customs Social Club, Seize Cash and Alcohol; Six Arrested

WATERBURY, CT – February 24, 2026 – The Waterbury Police Department conducted a major raid on Spedy Customs Social Club at 36 Gasparri Lane on February 13, following numerous noise complaints and ongoing quality-of-life concerns in the neighborhood.

Officers from the Crime Prevention Unit, Vice and Intelligence Unit, Auto Theft Task Force, and Patrol Divisionexecuted the search warrant, with the Waterbury Fire Marshal’s Office also responding. Inspectors identified multiple safety violations and determined that the warehouse is not permitted for occupancy or use at this time.

During the investigation, authorities seized:

  • $5,277 in U.S. currency
  • Liquor, beer, and cocktails

  • Tanairy Adames, 33, of Waterbury – Interfering with a Search Warrant
  • Melissa Santiago, 55, of Waterbury – Interfering with a Search Warrant; Disposing of Liquor Without a Permit
  • Exsatamara Gonzalez, 44, of Derby – Interfering with a Search Warrant; Disposing of Liquor Without a Permit
  • Hector Rodriguez-Ruiz, 43, of New Britain – Interfering with a Search Warrant; Disposing of Liquor Without a Permit; Conspiracy to Dispose of Liquor Without a Permit
  • Espedito Gonzalez, 44, of Waterbury – Disposing of Liquor Without a Permit; Conspiracy to Dispose of Liquor Without a Permit

Police say the raid was part of ongoing efforts to address quality-of-life concerns and ensure community safety.

“This operation underscores the Waterbury Police Department’s commitment to maintaining safety and enforcing the law,” a department spokesperson said. “We will continue to take action against locations that threaten public safety or violate the law.”

Neighbors of Gasparri Lane have expressed relief, saying that noise and safety concerns have been ongoing for months. The city has confirmed that the warehouse remains closed until safety violations are corrected and legal issues are resolved.
