Update: Waterbury Police Arrest Man After North Main Street Shooting – Court Date Set
Waterbury-Waterbury police arrested 33-year-old Scott Basile of New Haven following a shooting near 1900 North Main Street on February 26, 2026. Basile, who is already known to authorities for a 2018 arson case, remains in custody and is not released on bond.
Police have confirmed that Basile is facing the following charges:
- Third-Degree Assault (Misdemeanor) – Statute 53a-61
- Failure to Comply with Fingerprint Requirements – Statute 29-17

Basile’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Waterbury GA 4. The case is currently awaiting plea, and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Officials have set bond at $25,000 for this case only, but Basile remains in custody pending court proceedings.
