I.C.E Agents take MS-13 Murder Suspect into Custody After Arrest in Waterbury

Waterbury- Federal authorities say a suspected member of the gang MS-13 was arrested in Waterbury this week.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation New Haven Field Office, Danny Antonio Granados-Garcia, a national of El Salvador, was taken into custody on March 10, 2026. Authorities say he was identified as a fugitive wanted in El Salvador for aggravated homicide and had an active international notice through INTERPOL.

Investigators say Granados-Garcia is accused of killing a pastor who was related to an El Salvadorian police officer.

The arrest was carried out by the FBI with assistance from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which has taken custody of the suspect to facilitate deportation proceedings so he can face charges in El Salvador.

FBI New Haven Special Agent in Charge P.J. O’Brien said in a statement that federal authorities remain committed to pursuing members and associates of MS-13 and bringing justice to victims.

Authorities said the arrest occurred without incident.

Developing: Officials have not released additional details about how long the suspect had been in the United States or in Waterbury.
