Update: Hartford Police Say Shooting Was Not Officer-Involved

Hartford- Authorities have confirmed the incident was not an officer-involved shooting. The victim, a man in his 40s, was transported to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was listed in critical condition after the shooting on Albany Avenue. 

Initial speculation circulating on social media suggested police may have been involved, but that information has not been supported by authorities. Independent reporting from Hartford citizen journalist Johnny Cruz also indicated the incident did not involve police.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Hartford Police Department Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions.

UPDATE – Hartford Police Confirm Man Dies After Shooting

The Hartford Police Department has confirmed that a man in his 40s died following a shooting Thursday evening in Hartford.

Police said officers responded just before 7 p.m. to the area of Albany Avenue for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, and police have not announced any arrests.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The fatal shooting was reported by WTIC-TV Fox 61.
