Waterbury Police have confirmed that the incident initially reported as a possible robbery and kidnapping has been determined to be an isolated domestic disturbance.
Court records from today’s 12pm arraignment docket show one individual arraigned on bonds totaling $350,000 ($250,000 and $100,000) from an arrest date of yesterday.
While the timing aligns with the incident, authorities have not yet confirmed whether this arraignment is connected as we await court processing of today’s proceedings to be updated online for our investigation to confirm these suspicions.
The Waterbury Times is working to confirm the charges and any connection to the incident.

The Waterbury Police Department confirms to the Waterbury Times that the earlier reported ATM robbery incident has been determined to be an isolated domestic disturbance.
Police say:
- No weapon was used, displayed, or mentioned
- No injuries occurred
- No robbery or kidnapping took place
Officials explained that one person involved was holding multiple phones, which were initially mistaken for a weapon.

Waterbury-Police have located and surrounded a vehicle matching the description from the earlier armed robbery and possible kidnapping reported at a Webster Bank ATM on Reidville Drive. The vehicle was found in the area of Lakewood Road and Wolcott Street, near a Planet Fitness parking lot. Officers were seen surrounding the vehicle as part of the active investigation. It is not yet confirmed if the suspect is in custody or if the victims have been safely located.

Waterbury Police Searching for Suspects in Armed Robbery, Possible Kidnapping at Webster Bank ATM

Waterbury- At approximately 2:00 PM, police responded to a reported armed robbery at a Webster Bank ATM on Reidville Drive in Waterbury.
According to initial reports, two elderly victims were robbed at gunpoint by a male suspect described as wearing a black hoodie and black pants. The suspect then reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle, with the victims believed to still be inside.
Authorities are actively attempting to locate the victims by pinging their cell phones. The vehicle is possibly a red Chevrolet Cruze and was last pinged in the area of Stillson Road and Wolcott Street. Officers responded to that location but did not locate the vehicle.
This remains an active and developing situation.
Anyone with information is urged to contact local authorities immediately.
