Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz to Visit Waterbury’s VITA Site Promoting Free Tax Help

WATERBURY, CT — Susan Bysiewicz is scheduled to visit a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site in Waterbury on Monday morning to highlight free tax preparation services available to residents and promote recently passed tax relief measures in Connecticut.

The visit will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Waterbury Reentry Welcome Center, located at 77 Bishop Street.

The VITA program provides free tax preparation assistance to eligible individuals and families, helping ensure residents receive the credits and refunds they are entitled to.

Bysiewicz will be joined by Mark Boughton, Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services; Paul Pernerewski Jr.; and Geraldo Reyes.

Also expected to attend are community leaders including Beth Hines, Executive Director of Partners in Action; Jered Bruzas, Chief Impact Officer at United Way of Greater Waterbury; and Takima Robinson, Chief Program Officer of Advancing CT Together.

Officials are expected to emphasize the importance of utilizing free tax services and ensuring residents are aware of new tax relief opportunities available this filing season.
