Waterbury-A coordinated investigation by multiple units within the Waterbury Police Department led to the arrest of a city man and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics late last month.
On March 27, 2026, officers from the department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, Gang Task Force, and Auto Theft Task Force executed several search warrants targeting a suspect, a vehicle, and a residence on Joshua Town Road.
According to police, the warrants included the person of God Shakur, 40, of Waterbury, a 2014 BMW 320i xDrive, and a residence located at 47 Joshua Town Road.
What Was Seized
During the operation, investigators reported recovering:
- 1,323 bags of heroin
- 132 grams of crack cocaine
- Drug paraphernalia
- $400 in U.S. currency
Charges Filed
Following the search and seizure, Shakur was taken into custody and charged with:
- Possession of narcotics with intent to sell
- Possession of one ounce or more of heroin/fentanyl
- Possession of one-half ounce or more of cocaine in freebase form

The Waterbury Police Department stated that operations like this reflect an ongoing effort to address narcotics distribution and maintain public safety through coordinated enforcement.
