Waterbury- Waterbury Public Schools continues to highlight exceptional educators through its 2026 Teachers of the Year recognition.

Among those honored is Stephanie Colon of Rotella School, an educator whose dedication and commitment to her students have made a meaningful impact within the school community.

At the elementary level, teachers help shape the early academic and social development of students—building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and creating a foundation for lifelong learning.

Colon’s recognition reflects her ability to connect with students and create an environment where they feel supported and motivated to succeed.

In schools like Rotella, educators serve as both teachers and mentors, playing a key role in strengthening the connection between the classroom and the community.
