Waterbury — A Waterbury woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a 2024 fatal shooting following a two-year investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to police, Desire Aitken, 19, of Waterbury, was taken into custody in Pennsylvania on April 10, 2026, by members of the Waterbury Police Criminal Investigation Bureau, the Waterbury Police Fugitive Task Force, and the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Aitken was extradited back to Connecticut on May 1, 2026, where she was processed by the Waterbury Police Department. Authorities noted that Aitken was a juvenile at the time of the 2024 incident.

Police say the case stems from an incident on January 30, 2024, at approximately 7:49 p.m., when officers responded to the area of 928 North Main Street (Bertie’s Restaurant) for a reported motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle that had traveled through a parking lot and into the backyard of a nearby residence, striking multiple objects before coming to a stop.

Investigators determined that the driver, Keno Williams, 38, of Waterbury, had sustained a gunshot wound to the rear of his head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
