WATERBURY, CT — The City of Waterbury held its annual memorial ceremony on Monday at City Hall, honoring fallen members of the Waterbury Police Department and Waterbury Fire Department.
The ceremony took place at the Fallen Firefighters and Police Officers Monument at 235 Grand Street, where city officials, first responders, families of the fallen, and community members gathered in remembrance.




Police officers and firefighters stood together in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the Waterbury community, recognizing their dedication, bravery, and commitment to protecting others.
The ceremony featured a performance by the Waterbury Pipes and Drums, adding a solemn tribute to the occasion as attendees reflected on the lives and service of the fallen.

City leaders emphasized the importance of remembering those who gave their lives in the line of duty and expressed gratitude to the families they left behind.

WATERBURY, CT — The City of Waterbury invites members of the media and the public to attend the annual memorial ceremony honoring fallen members of the Waterbury Police Department and Waterbury Fire Department.
The ceremony will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fallen Firefighters and Police Officers Monument located at City Hall, 235 Grand Street in Waterbury.
During the ceremony, members of the Waterbury Police Department and Waterbury Fire Department will stand together in remembrance of the “finest and bravest” who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the community.
The event will include a performance by the Waterbury Pipes and Drums and will be attended by family members of fallen officers and firefighters, first responders, city officials, and members of the community.
The City encourages residents to attend and take part in honoring and remembering those who gave their lives in service to Waterbury.
