WATERBURY, CT — Due to forecasted rain and inclement weather conditions, the City of Waterbury’s Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026, has been canceled.

The parade had been scheduled to muster at 12:00 p.m. on Freight Street, with step-off at 1:00 p.m.

Memorial Day services will still take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Because of the weather forecast, the ceremony has been moved indoors and will now be held in the basement of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

City officials are encouraging residents to attend the indoor services as the community comes together to honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation
