Residents displaced by the massive three-alarm fire say they are beginning the difficult process of finding temporary housing and getting assistance after the blaze damaged their homes.

One resident told The Waterbury Times that later in the evening, around 8 or 9 p.m., they received a call from the property management company informing them they would be relocated to another building in the Willow Hillside Grove Neighborhood..

“They’re going to have us stay— place us at a building on Willow I think,” the resident said. “It’s going to be a bigger apartment, same rent, everything like that. We just have to meet tomorrow at 10:30.”

The resident said the news of the fire came through social media then direct communication from the property management company.

“She found out from news articles on Facebook because nobody in the building called her,” the resident said.

Residents said Molly and Nicole have been working to help coordinate assistance and relocation efforts following the fire. One resident said a neighbor from the rear of the building also reported speaking with Nicole about the situation.

“It seems like they’re trying to facilitate everybody,” the resident said.

The fire has displaced residents, and officials are continuing to assess the damage and coordinate resources for those affected.
