Waterbury Police say two juveniles have been arrested and charged in connection with the July 5 shooting outside LA 42 Night Club that left two people dead.

WATERBURY, CT — Two 17-year-old suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with the deadly shooting outside LA 42 Night Club that claimed the lives of 22-year-old Trey-Von Dunbar and 18-year-old Zaniya Dawkins.

According to the Waterbury Police Department, officers responded to 675 East Main Street shortly after 12:37 a.m. on July 5, 2026, following reports of shots fired.

Investigators said evidence of gunfire was located at the scene, where officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds outside the nightclub.

Dunbar and Dawkins were transported to a local hospital, where both later succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased.

Two Suspects Identified

The investigation was led by detectives from the Waterbury Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit, who identified two juvenile suspects and obtained arrest warrants.

Police identified the suspects as:

• Diondre Weaver, 17, of West Hartford
• Dorien Glenn, 17, of New Britain

On July 10, 2026, Waterbury Police said a multi-agency operation was conducted to execute search warrants and arrest warrants.

During the operation, both suspects were taken into custody.

Police said Weaver was arrested at 185 Fairview Avenue, First Floor, New Britain, while Glenn was arrested at 80 Connecticut Avenue, New Britain.

Authorities said several handguns, along with other items considered evidence in the investigation, were recovered during the operation.

Both Weaver and Glenn face multiple charges, including:

• Two counts of Murder
• Conspiracy to Commit Murder
• Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
• Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree
• Illegal Sale/Delivery/Transfer of a Pistol or Revolver
• Weapons in a Motor Vehicle
• Carrying a Pistol or Revolver Without a Permit

Police said the cases for both suspects were transferred from juvenile court to adult court on July 14, 2026.

According to the Waterbury Police Department, investigators led a multi-agency operation on July 10 to execute search and arrest warrants connected to the ongoing homicide investigation.

During the operation, both juvenile suspects were taken into custody in New Britain as officers carried out the arrest warrants. Police said investigators also recovered multiple handguns and additional items considered evidence during the execution of related search warrants.
