WATERBURY, CT — As the 2026 Connecticut General Assembly election cycle begins to take shape, a community survey conducted by the Faithalee for the 75th District campaign offers a snapshot of concerns shared by participants about government, representation, and the issues they want addressed.
The survey, conducted in May 2026 through SurveyMonkey, collected responses from 16 participants. The survey was not a scientific poll and does not represent the views of all 75th District residents, but it provides insight into the issues and themes raised by those who chose to participate.
Among the most common concerns expressed were government transparency, communication, accountability, and residents feeling disconnected from elected leadership.
One respondent identified the biggest issue facing Waterbury and the district as:
“High cost and low credibility of city and state governments.”
Another respondent cited:
“Politics as usual. Failed policies. Increases waste.”
When asked what they would most like to see improved in the community, participants highlighted the importance of communication and engagement between residents and leaders.
One response stated:
“Communication and events in our community so you can get to know each other.”
Another emphasized:
“Community communication. Listening to constituents and best representing them.”
What Residents Said They Want in a Representative
When asked what qualities matter most in a State Representative, respondents repeatedly mentioned:
- Honesty
- Transparency
- Accountability
- Accessibility
- Listening to constituents
- Understanding community needs
The feedback centered around the idea that residents want representatives who are visible, responsive, and connected to the communities they serve.
Supporters Describe Faithalee as Accessible and Community-Focused
A separate section of the survey asked individuals who know Faithalee to describe her character and leadership qualities.
Common words used by respondents included:
- Honest
- Genuine
- Caring
- Determined
- Hardworking
- Loyal
- Intelligent
- Compassionate
Several respondents referenced personal experiences involving Faithalee helping others, standing up for issues she believes in, and building relationships within the community.
One respondent described her as:
“A fighter. She never gives up and she always stands for the people.”
Another wrote:
“She truly cares for everyone and is very selfless.”
A Focus on Listening
The survey comes as candidates prepare for the 2026 Connecticut General Assembly elections, where issues such as affordability, government effectiveness, public services, and constituent communication are expected to remain important topics for voters.
While the survey represents only those who participated, the responses highlight broader themes often discussed in local politics: residents wanting leaders who listen, communicate, and remain accountable.
