Town of Oxford Requests Proposals for Rain Emergency Watershed Protection Project

Waterbury- The Town of Oxford is soliciting proposals for the August 2024 Rain Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP)project.

Sealed proposals will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Office of the First Selectman, 486 Oxford Road, Oxford, CT 06478, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Proposals received after the deadline will not be accepted.

The Town is seeking contractors to perform cleanup and restoration work on several waterways damaged during the August 18, 2024 flood event. Work includes removal of debris, including non-natural materials, brush, stumps, and downed trees within and adjacent to waterways, as well as disposal of materials at approved locations.

All bidders must inspect project locations prior to submitting proposals. A five percent (5%) bid bond is required with all bids. Payment for completed work is subject to Connecticut Prevailing Wage Rates.

Proposal documents may be obtained from the Office of the First Selectman or downloaded from the Town of Oxford website at Oxford-CT.gov.

Funding for this project is provided through the State of Connecticut Urban Act Grant, administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

The Town of Oxford reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or waive defects when deemed in the best interest of the Town.
