5 MILE RIVER STREAM CHANNEL ENHANCEMENTS
Oxford- The Town of Oxford (“Town”) is soliciting proposals for 5 Mile River Stream Channel Enhancements, Oxford, Connecticut.
SEALED PROPOSALS will be received until 2:30 p.m. on August 18, 2026, at the Office of the First Selectman, 486 Oxford Road, Oxford, Connecticut 06478, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Proposals received after this time will be rejected.
Specifications and proposal documents may be obtained at the Office of the First Selectman or downloaded from the Town website at Oxford-ct.gov.
The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or waive defects therein if it deems such action to be in the best interest of the Town.
All submitters of proposals are advised that the Town of Oxford will affirmatively assure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded in accordance with applicable requirements. Minority Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals and are encouraged to do so. The Town of Oxford is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
All bids must include a five percent (5%) bid bond.
The Town of Oxford is requesting prices to clean up and restore several waterways damaged by the August 18, 2024 flood. An attached list identifies locations where cleanup work is requested. Time is of the essence; therefore, the Town of Oxford may award one or more locations to a specific bidder. Payment for all work performed at these locations is subject to the State of Connecticut Prevailing Wage Rates.
The work shall include reconstruction of embankments and installation of several rock weirs in the channel.

The selected contractor(s) shall dispose of all materials at locations approved or permitted by State and local agencies. Contractor(s) shall identify proposed disposal locations for approval by the Town of Oxford.
