Grand Street Shooting in Waterbury Leaves Man Injured; Police Say Incident Was Isolated

WATERBURY — On Nov. 29 at approximately 1:45 a.m., Waterbury Police officers patrolling the area of Grand Street heard what they believed to be gunshots. Moments later, a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at a local area hospital seeking treatment.

Bullet hole several stores down from bar where police believe confrontation began

Police say the incident was an isolated confrontation between two small groups of individuals, resulting in one victim.

The victim, a 39-year-old Waterbury man, sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen. Medical staff reported his injuries to be non-life-threatening.

Detectives are actively investigating the shooting.
