A preliminary review of the scene — including the single bullet hole identified near the property — appears consistent with their account. The trajectory and placement suggest that no shots were fired at, in, or from Grand Tavern, and that the confrontation escalated on the street, not within the business.

“We want the community to know that Grand Tavern remains a safe place to dine and gather,” the building owner told the Waterbury Times. “This situation happened outside, after hours, and had nothing to do with our staff. We welcome everyone to continue coming down and supporting local business.”
The building owner echoed that statement, adding that the property is fully cooperating with police as the investigation continues.
Waterbury Police have not yet released additional details about the individuals involved in the altercation or what led to the shooting.
The Waterbury Times will continue to follow this story and provide updates as new information becomes available.
