WATERBURY, CT — The Waterbury Police Department confirmed that a department employee was arrested Thursday following an investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
According to an official statement, on February 5, 2026, the Waterbury Police Department was notified by the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crimes Division that an arrest warrant had been issued for Donald Robinson, a Police Sergeant employed by the department.

Robinson is charged with Interfering with an Investigation and Computer Crimes in the Fifth Degree.
The warrant was served by Connecticut State Police during the morning hours. Robinson was processed and released on a Promise to Appear.
In response, the Waterbury Police Department has launched an Internal Affairs investigation and is cooperating fully with the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crimes Division. Robinson has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of that investigation.
Officials stated that the matter remains an active investigation and that no additional details are available at this time. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
