BREAKING UPDATE: Arrest Made in North Main Street Shooting Incident

Waterbury-Waterbury Police have announced an arrest following the shooting incident that occurred yesterday morning on North Main Street.

Authorities say Scott Basile, 33, of New Haven, has been arrested in connection with the disturbance that took place on February 26, 2026, in the area of 1900 North Main Street.

Breaking: Shooting Incident Reported on North Main Street in Waterbury

According to police, Basile suffered both a gunshot wound and a graze wound during the incident. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

After being discharged from the hospital, Basile was taken into custody and transported to Waterbury Police Headquarters. Police say he refused to comply with the booking process.

Charges Filed

Basile has been charged with:

  • Assault in the 3rd Degree
  • Failure to Comply with Fingerprint Requirements

He was arraigned in court on February 27, 2026, and is being held on a $55,000 bond. Authorities also confirmed that Basile is currently under supervision on parole through the Connecticut Department of Correction.

On February 👉 26 at approximately 11:18 AM, Waterbury Patrol Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of North Main Street.

The investigation determined the shooting stemmed from a disturbance between Basile and another individual. Police say the incident appears to be isolated.

Basile was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and then released into police custody.
