WATERBURY, CT — Waterbury police confirmed to The Waterbury Times that the incident first reported by TWT remains under investigation.

According to officials, a hit-and-run driver struck several parked vehicles before leaving the scene. Police said the vehicles that were hit were unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Because the incident did not involve serious injuries or other critical circumstances, authorities indicated that there are no plans to issue a formal press release regarding the case at this time.

The investigation into the driver involved remains ongoing.

UPDATE: Shortly after the crash, the vehicle believed to be involved was located nearby before officers from the Waterbury Police Department arrived on scene.

The vehicle appeared to have sustained heavy damage consistent with the collision that struck multiple parked cars and left debris, including a detached tire, in the roadway.

It is not yet clear if anyone was inside the vehicle at the time it was located or if any injuries were reported. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Waterbury- According to information from the scene, the crash caused significant damage to several parked vehicles on Fairview Street. One of the vehicle’s tires broke off during the collision and was left in the middle of the street.
